Syesha Mercado Makes Top Three

Wow, was last nights american idol a nail biter or what? Of course, I don't think it was a surprise to anyone that Jason was headed home. I mean, he absolutely butchered those two songs the other night. I was so happy to see that Syesha Mercado was in the Top 3. No one else deserves it more than she does!

Simon seemed to be....well...Simon. What can you say about him?

Syesha's songs were smooth, on time and the girl knew right where she had to be. It looked like she was very comfortable when she was up there on stage.

Can Syesha Mercado become the next American Idol?

She has her detracters, but most people feel like David A. will crack under the pressure, done having shown a few stressed out performances before. Syesha is as good as David Cook is, but obviously David Cook is the favorite among the American Idol powers-that-be.

David Cook has had his ups and downs also. For the last several weeks, his performances have been all over the place. Who knows which David Cook will show up at the American Idol Finals. Will it be David Cook the Karaoke singer or David Cook the Pop Star?

Either way, Syesha Mercado is good enough to beat both of them! She has the stage presence (which I don't think David A does) and she has consistent talent week to week that can carry her on to be the next American Idol.

Whether or not she is actually crowned the next American Idol, we'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised that the powers-that-be at American Idol try and get her voted off next week because of the huge threat she poses to the two popular boys on the show.

Let's cross our fingers and say our Prayers that Syesha Mercado can whoop some butt next week and cruise into American Idol finals!

Yipeee! Syesha Mercado will be advancing American Idol's competition into the Top 24. Syesha Mercado was the favorite and easily won the spot in the Top 24 American Idol list.

The next steps for Syesha Mercado is the weekly competition rounds leading up to American Idol's Top 12. Unlike previous American Idol competition's, these are voted on by you the viewer, not determined by the judges. No one doubts that Syesha Mercado has what it takes to make the American Idol top 12. All that stands in the way is a poor performance or poor song choice, or perhaps even a bad night by the judges.

Syesha Mercado certainly has a bank of songs to choose from. However, as we've seen in the past, some American Idol hopefuls do a poor job of choosing songs and this could be Syesha Mercado's downfall on the American Idol stage. Who knows what she will come out of the gate with. A song from Michael Jackson or one from the Dirty South Beats?

Syesha Mercado will need the smooth yet powerful voice to help advance in the competition, no doubt. And let’s face it. There have been American Idol contestants in the past who’ve made it a long ways in the competition that wasn’t as talented as Syesha Mercado. Sometimes it’s not the most talented that go on to the final 12 in American Idol competition, sometimes it’s nothing more than a local favorite getting their hometown (or home state or home country…read Sanjiya the Indian Idol as they call him) to vote for them.

Syesha Mercado has what it takes to make it to the Top 3 in the American Idol competition, the only question at this time is can it be done with a fickle crowd and can the song choices and performances go off without a hitch?

You'll have to turn on American Idol and watch American Idol every week to see if Syesha Mercado can wow the fans of American Idol.

Syesha Mercado is a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol. Syesha Mercado wowed the judges at her audition and was sent on to Hollywood for the finals. However, during the finals, Syesha Mercado's voice gave out and her performance was iffy at best.

Syesha Mercado is the daughter of a Motown back up singer. She also majored in Theater when she was in college. Syesha Mercado is 19 and loves to sing in front of her Church. She currently lives in Miami.

Syesha has tried out for ABC's "The One" in the past but did not make it through.

Syesha hails from Miami and that is where she auditioned. She says that she started sining at the age of 3 following her mom around the house and that she performed at the age of 4 in front of her Church.

She says her favorite singers are Justin Timberlake and Alecia Keys. That's some pretty big favorites!

Syesha graduated from high school in 2005 from the Booker High School Visual and Performing Arts Center in Miami. Those around her say she was a good student who volunteered on the Student Council. With all her studies and extra activities, Syesha Mercado still managed a 3.4 GPA while participating in a variety of productions while she was still in high school.

Since her departure from High School, Syesha has been no stranger to reality television as stated earlier. She was on the short lived American Idol wannabe from ABC called "The One", which also stands for how many people actually watched that show!

Look for more Syesha Mercado. The only question mark is if her voice will be strong enough to hold out. She is defineately one of the internets favorites to win season 7 of the american idol. Syesha Mercado is our favorite also!
