Syesha Mercado

Syesha Mercado is a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol. Syesha Mercado wowed the judges at her audition and was sent on to Hollywood for the finals. However, during the finals, Syesha Mercado's voice gave out and her performance was iffy at best.

Syesha Mercado is the daughter of a Motown back up singer. She also majored in Theater when she was in college. Syesha Mercado is 19 and loves to sing in front of her Church. She currently lives in Miami.

Syesha has tried out for ABC's "The One" in the past but did not make it through.

Syesha hails from Miami and that is where she auditioned. She says that she started sining at the age of 3 following her mom around the house and that she performed at the age of 4 in front of her Church.

She says her favorite singers are Justin Timberlake and Alecia Keys. That's some pretty big favorites!

Syesha graduated from high school in 2005 from the Booker High School Visual and Performing Arts Center in Miami. Those around her say she was a good student who volunteered on the Student Council. With all her studies and extra activities, Syesha Mercado still managed a 3.4 GPA while participating in a variety of productions while she was still in high school.

Since her departure from High School, Syesha has been no stranger to reality television as stated earlier. She was on the short lived American Idol wannabe from ABC called "The One", which also stands for how many people actually watched that show!

Look for more Syesha Mercado. The only question mark is if her voice will be strong enough to hold out. She is defineately one of the internets favorites to win season 7 of the american idol. Syesha Mercado is our favorite also!
