Syesha Mercado

Wow, was last nights american idol a nail biter or what? Of course, I don't think it was a surprise to anyone that Jason was headed home. I mean, he absolutely butchered those two songs the other night. I was so happy to see that Syesha Mercado was in the Top 3. No one else deserves it more than she does!

Simon seemed to be....well...Simon. What can you say about him?

Syesha's songs were smooth, on time and the girl knew right where she had to be. It looked like she was very comfortable when she was up there on stage.

Can Syesha Mercado become the next American Idol?

She has her detracters, but most people feel like David A. will crack under the pressure, done having shown a few stressed out performances before. Syesha is as good as David Cook is, but obviously David Cook is the favorite among the American Idol powers-that-be.

David Cook has had his ups and downs also. For the last several weeks, his performances have been all over the place. Who knows which David Cook will show up at the American Idol Finals. Will it be David Cook the Karaoke singer or David Cook the Pop Star?

Either way, Syesha Mercado is good enough to beat both of them! She has the stage presence (which I don't think David A does) and she has consistent talent week to week that can carry her on to be the next American Idol.

Whether or not she is actually crowned the next American Idol, we'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised that the powers-that-be at American Idol try and get her voted off next week because of the huge threat she poses to the two popular boys on the show.

Let's cross our fingers and say our Prayers that Syesha Mercado can whoop some butt next week and cruise into American Idol finals!
